Description1971 Boston Whaler MONTAUK
Please call owner Al @ 208-939-0614 with any questions. 98 updated, fully equipted, too much to list here. Motor 1989 2 cycle, self oil injected, new powerhead, 10 hours max. Meets full factory specs. Shorelander 1989 trailer, new steel radial tires, more equip not listed here. In May of 2005, I purchased thru a EBAY ad. a Boston Whaler 1971 Montauk boat, a 1989 Evinrude 90 HP Motor, and a 1989 E-Z Loader trailer. Several things helped my decision to bid and purchase the outfit were first, that the Doctor who owned and used the outfit, had the outfit at the same moorage that he kept the whole unit in covered dry storage, for installation of a new power head. Unfortunately for the widow he didn't survive long enough to get everything back before he passed. She had a young fellow do the prepping of the unit and I did the dealing thru him, until the final payment which I made at my bank in Ohio to her. This was a 4000 mile plus trip for me, there and back. This unit therefore was brought back to Idaho with no hours on the new power head. I did replace the tires on the trailer with steel belted radials as the old ones showed weather checking. The trailer had no rust and only the Doc's name on each side ot the frame. I painted these out and several other warned spots with a good acrylic, looks good now. The motor being a OMC product shows in the picture the power head, also the motor being run in my yard with the water going thru the unit at attached Clam Shells. Everything functions well in this older 2 cycle engine. I have a complete 1989 catalog and a owners detailed manual and all installation design drawings/papers for all the OMC products used on the boat. When I saw the pictures of the boat in the Ebay ad, it pictured a nice clean, white center console. My guess is that it was freshened up for the pictures shown. Didn't show that the "painter" slopped paint around the bottom of the painted areas and to get it off mad my job impossible. so after a search, found a exact match for the mold in color of the interior of the boats bottom. Still have at least a pint of paint left. n the bow hatch, under the anchor shown in pictures ia a eye and on on each side of the transom, inside. These are for lifting the unit with the three point strap, that enables lift to take boat from trailer, into the air for launching or for working n the boat/ motor/ or whatever.( like working on the trailer without having anything in the way.) I have all titles, not necessary in Idaho, and all the paper work, diagrams that show installation of features the boat came with when being set up. I ask that you study carefully the pictures with this ad and Engine
