DescriptionFew trawler-style boats enjoy the continued popularity of the DeFever 44. She's heavily built on a solid fiberglass hull with hard chines aft and a full-length keel. Below, her teak interior is arranged with galley aft and to port in the salon, a pleasant departure from the normal galley down layout found in most trawlers. There are 2 sliding deck access doors in the salon and visibility from the lower helm is very good. A notable feature of the DeFever 44 is her excellent engine room (reached via the door in the forward stateroom)with nearly standing headroom. With her rugged and seakindly hull, the DeFever 44 is considered a serious bluewater cruiser with better than average resale values. She'll cruise efficiently 8-9 knots with a range of about 1,200 miles. Techma Silence Plus freshwater flush electric heads installed August 2011. Engine
